My Mama was a hardworking woman. She held down two jobs helping my father to make ends meet. One thing for sure is that my mom was an excellent chef cook and I was always by her side preparing those delicious meals for a family of 10. Although there were seven girls in the family, I was the only one that really took an interest in cooking.

My Mama would talk to me while we cooked and she told me that I could do and succeed at anything I set my mind to. She said that "I was born a beautiful miraculous woman. Beauty in the way I talked, walked and treated others." She told me I was special.

Listening is something we don't really do when our parents are talking to us. But sometimes the simpliest thing said to you by them is the answer you have been seeking all of your earthly life but have overlooked because you were not listening.

Making Pecan Pralines was a delicacy around our home. It was something we could easily make with cream, sugar and pecans. We picked and shelled pecans that fell from the Pecan trees each year. Pecans were plentiful back then. It was also a way for us to make a little change for ourselves selling it to children in the neighborhood.

I have taken my Mama's special way of preparing these Pralines and decided to let the world in on a secret taste that is like none other. Most Louisianians know what I am talking about! You crave this taste and it can really become addictive. After selfishly gorging myself on a batch I made, I thought about it and decided to put an effort forth to succeed at something my Mama Said and taught me.

So what I decided to do was to make some samples and just let people taste them without any pressure to purchase and God has allowed my Mama's Pecan Pralines to florish from there. Pralines are healther than you may think!
